Shooting Bays

Members,

We have completed out shooting bay meeting with the AGC president and committee members today. This train is ready to start picking up speed. The AGC president will present our planning results of the Hesco barrier system to the trustees and secure the funding for the barrier build out among other things such as burying the electrical wires that span the shooting area.

The great news is that ARPC action shooting and the AGC action shooting entities only are granted limited and controlled use of the shooting bay area starting this week. What that means is Tuesday night steel will be on the shooting bay area and not the 200 yd range Tuesday 26 June. I will answer any questions for you at the event. ARPC has been the tip of the spear in steel target safety testing, action shooting concept testing, and now the shooting berm.

The barrier prep and installation will happen during non-shooting hours. Trucks will start to deliver fill dirt in a week or so. These are exciting times people. Who ever thought a mound of dirt could bring so many people happiness.

Reminder: Saturday, June 23, Bust Fest trap shoot from 9:00 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. on Trap 1.

To Arlington Rifle and Pistol Club,

BUST FEST – Sunday, June 23rd, on Trap 1 from 9:00 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. Our Bust Fest Trap Shoot is one of our most popular events. Each shooter can engage one or multiple birds at a time. You keep shooting until you need a break. It is a lot of fun and a very social event. Don’t worry if you don’t have a shotgun, it is a great opportunity to try different models to see which one works best for you. We buy our clay pigeons/birds from the AGC, so we ask for a donation of $15 per shooter for the event to cover the cost of the birds.

Please note: The AGC Range Rules require Target loads only with the following specifications: #7.5, #8 or #9 shot with a Feet Per Second (FPS) of 1200 FPS or less. Most target load ammunition for shotgun will fall under these specifications.

Have a great week!

Rob

Pistol Steel Event Sunday 10 June, 0900 to 1430

Members,

Please join us for a pistol steel fun shoot this weekend on Sunday, 10 June at 0900hrs on the AGC pistol range. This is an unformatted (no course of fire), static shooting event. We will be at the shed around 0800hrs to load up and setup. We will have the plate rack and multiple steel plates setup. Safety Brief is at 0900.

DO bring your pistols. .22lr and up to .45 cal. No Magnum or penetrator rounds. No FN 5.7 (too fast). If you have a .357, be sure to buy some .38 rounds to shoot.
DO NOT bring your rifles, short barrel rifles, pistol caliber carbines, AK, AR type pistols. It comes down to safety.

If you are not sure, ask before you shoot it.

Please remember your full coverage eye protection as it is mandatory. Your Mickey Mouse plastic wayfarer sunglasses from Wal-Mart won’t protect you.

We have Empty Chamber Indicators for sale if you forget to bring or do not own any.

Remember, that if you bring unbadged guests, you are responsible for them and cannot leave them unattended on the line with firearms. Kindly be aware that if you invite a large group of guests, it is unfair to expect other badge holders to stop shooting and attend to your guests.

Food will be cooked on site for a donation. Please don’t forget some cash. We will have T-shirts, Hats and Sweatshirts for sale as well.

Weather call: Unless there is lightening, the event will go on.

See you there!
